Leah Palmer, Photographer
I’m an IT nerd by profession, and a photography enthusiast by nature. My work covers a wide range of styles, including macro, landscapes and waterscapes, black and white and nature. My shooting locations are primarily in the Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia area, but I’ve been known to stray farther afield, and when I do, my camera is with me.
Although like most kids, I was given a 110 Instamatic when I was young, my love for photography grew into a passion when I purchased my first 35mm camera. Since then, I’ve used all kinds of cameras, from 35mm to medium and large format, but have now switched primarily to digital. I spent years in the darkroom processing black and white film and creating prints, and worked in photo labs with color film. I spent a lot of time working as the darkroom technician for a local newspaper, and have done freelance work for the Baltimore Sun. I’ve had images published in local newspapers. Photography is my primary artistic outlet.
