Photography is a skill as well as a mindset.

So often, people think that buying a new camera will make them a photographer, or better photographer. That simply isn’t the case. Cameras don’t make the photographer, the photographer’s vision and skill do that. You can buy all the expensive cameras and lenses you want, but you must be able to see the subject, and then using your knowledge of the craft, be able to capture it in such a way that others will see why you pushed the shutter button in the first place.

Learning the basics of photography can only help you. There’s knowledge and skill behind the photographic works that you admire so much. Gathering some of that knowledge to put to use in your own work will be valuable as you go forward. Heck, even just reading the manual and becoming familiar with that camera you bought will go a long way. Take some time; it will only help your photographic skills.
